About Me

Hi! My name is Brenda and I am a New York via Florida transplant! I visited Italy for the first time in 2006 and immediately felt at home here. Maybe it was growing up in New York surrounded by Italians that made Italy feel so familiar, but I remember returning home (Florida at the time) and simply seeing myself living in Italy. I moved here one year later.

I was working for Corporate America when I moved here, working east coast hours and missing out on the dolce vita. While everyone here was enjoying the beach and the outdoors, and meeting up for aperitivos and fabulous dinners, I was at home working behind a computer (working remotely way before the rest of the world).

Shortly after moving here, I met a local American, Paula, and her husband, Angelo. They owned Angelo’s Boat Tours, one of the first to offer boat tours in the Cinque Terre. A few years after meeting, Paula and Angelo offered me an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. I ditched my corporate job and I dove right into this wonderful world!

I’m a native New Yorker, but actually lived in Tampa before moving to Levanto, one town north of Monterosso. Nowadays, I split my time between New York and Levanto, and enjoy the best of both worlds with my ride-or-die, Nora.
